/dev/wd1 on marilyn is dying. Some sort of DMA error and soft error every few hours, which so far have all been corrected automatically. The RAID still appears to be healthy. I’ll need another 40GB HD soon thou. This of course beats no RAID, in which case one has to drop everything on hand, install a new HD and try to get everything on the old HD off to the new HD before it dies. A pain in the neck.
While on the topic of HDs, Maxtor is doing a special right now, till end of November. Bring in any old HD, and one can buy a new 120GB model (w/ 3 year warranty!) for HK$777.
