Loud Mobile Users

We were on a bus going home last nite. A lady started talking on her mobile at the top of her voice, so the whole bus must have heard her, for well over 20 minutes. The conversation was on a simple matter, but she kept repeating herself, a sign of lack of communication skill.

This is expensive, but I am very tempted… Must save up…

This product is good, but can’t solve the annoyance I met today. A crowded NWF Bus 171, with 2 loudly talking ladies (or auntie 8)inside, and I have no way to esacpe. They two just complainting to each other what unfair they had encounter in their work. But I think, who dare in the world would offend you two.

Still better than those vans with PA systems driving around, yelling half sentances to residences and people on the streets they pass by.

Once again, I had to resort to my “QUIET!” yell, which even though was not as powerfull as Dr Slump’s Arale’s “O ganki desu ka!” yell, but was powerful enough to stop one van’s PA this evening.

Ah Leung you could always call a friend up and chit-chat about nothingness, or god forbidden, photography. Or call your son and mur-mur at each other. But this would be hypocritical (for me at least).

If I could sing, I would sing, loudly, in opera style. This would at least be of some entertainment value to co-passengers. Of course one can always do the la-la-la-la-la tune quietly, and shake one’s head about or something (can you say waving lunatic?) Often you’ll find people around you quiet down.

Hey James what’s those vans w/ PA systems about? Would this be against some traffic law?

Well, it’s that time of the decade – election.

I can see the need of a PA system for one that stands still conveying messages to a large crowd of audiences, so one could finish what one has to say and the audiences can at least hear as much as they so desire to hear.

But announcing while the van is moving at around 50Kph at a much louder volume then standing still, so one could hear maybe 2/3 of a sentance instead of 1/3?... Let alone knowing who the hell was making the announcement.

As to the legality about PA system in the public, be it moving in a car or standing still, I have always wondered if just anyone could do so or it is only the ones for the purpose of the Elections that are exempt. There is also the enviormental issue on the intensity of the volume…
