Just received an email from Netvigator informing that there is a counterfeit Netvigator billing notice email which carries a virus payload disguised as an attachment.
It might get to a point where the normal folks just stop opening attachments.
HKNet emails their bill out as an attached PDF file, which is safe to open, but folks may not realize this and therefore ignoring such emails, making this form of document delivery virtually unusable.
Netvigator sends a url link to the actual bill in its billing notice. The domains pccw1.com and netvgator.com are still available. There is nothing stopping someone from snapping up these domains and pull the imitation trick. The OFTA may be joining HKMA in making those fraudulent website warnings soon.
The Internet is just dangerous.
Bummer.
