2LD .hk Domain Names Part III

May 17th, 2004 · 2 Comments

I have just spoken to a sales representative of the HKDNR. It turns out that one does not pay the HK$200 HK$250 annual registration fee when submitting the application, and only pays it when it is finally registered (i.e. at the end of the sunrise period, when nobody else wants the same domain name, or one wins the lucky draw).

So one may wish to take advantage of the small loophole, by submitting multiple applications for domain names one fancies (plus some acceptable alternatives), and only pay for the one(s) which one actually wants when the registration results are out.

Should the annual fee be $250?

    You are absolutely right.
