Well, it’s actually a nursery-kindergarten.
Although he had been to the nursery a few time and spent a couple of pleasant sessions there, he was nervous on his way to school this morning. He didn’t want to go in at first, and needed me to hug him and assured him that I would be with him before he finally went in.
He was quite lost, not knowing what to do. Nonetheless he was calm and got into all the different sessions fairly quickly. Food there will probably take him some time getting used to. He refused to eat the breakfast, and asked me for food around 11:15, fortunately lunch is served at around 11:40. He listened to my explanation and went back to the singing/music.
We were only planning for him to take his nap at school on Wednesday, but seeing that he didn’t want to leave after lunch (followed by story time!) we tried to put him to bed. Seeing all the kids going to bed around him he got quite excited. As he is used to go to bed (even afternoon naps) w/ his bottle I wasn’t too hopeful that he would be taking him nap on his first day at school, and not wanting to distract others from getting their sleeps we left.
At about half way on our 10 minutes short walk home he refused to walk so I held him, and he fell asleep almost immediately.
The Lady asked him about his day at school. He didn’t want to talk about it at all. I am a little worried about his school day tomorrow.

It took us all a little getting used to. I’m sure he’ll do fine. Don’t worry.

Well I used to have doubts as to whether Jasper should start schooling at the young age of 2. I really wanted Jasper to go to this nursery/kindergarten as I was very impressed with it, but as it normally accepts new kids at 2 and may not be able to accept any kids of 3 unless there are vacancies, we really didn’t have much choice.
Since turning 18 months old, Jasper was getting bored at home playing w/ our maid (althou I must say she has done an excellent job teaching Jasper lots of stuff), had noone except Lily the Golden Retriever to play w/, was not getting much stimulation in life and was getting a little frustrated. Having some peers for company would definitely be good for him.

We had Alec gone to the Y when he was 1-1/2, and then some other pre-schools before he was 3. The sooner they get started, the easier for them to get used to doing things with a bunch of kids without needing us hanging around.
