I said goodbye to Jasper at around 09:45 this morning during his morning play session. I told him that I would be back before their lunch time. He appeared to take it well.
When I got back, his teachers told me that my absence soon got to Jasper, and he started crying a bit, but would then be distracted by something the class is doing, be it physical exercise or singing. However, as soon as it was queue up or washroom time when nothing happened he started thinking about me and cried, but was soon distracted again.
His teachers told me that this was actually a good sign. He was well aware that he was going to school and his kins were not w/ him so he cried, but he would soon get over it. For some kids this could take up to a month to sink in, and when it hits them these kids are going to be crying for much longer.
Got him into bed and fallen asleep w/o much problem, and he woke up an hour later w/o fuss. However, since I got back he would insist that I was with him in the same room, and as soon as he discovered that I was not in sight he would start crying.
Anyway the Lady had no OT today, so came visit Jasper before school finished. She was hiding in the next room and only looked thru the window to see Jasper playing. Eventually Jasper saw her and was he pleased! She had a little chat w/ Jasper’s teacher. She also did some reading w/ Jasper before we left together.
