A reader on BoingBoing said,
As a British citizen, I just can’t understand why. Does the British media unfairly portray Bush, or are more than half of American voters just fucking stupid?
Another term for Bush means that U.S. armed forces are going to be tied up in Iraq for a long time. The PLA will have a big window of time to liberate Taiwan w/ force should they wish to do it, and there isn’t much the yanks could do.
To Kit made a good suggestion the other night: the Taiwanese could blackmail the Americans to send them lots of cash and weapons for free by threatening to unite with the PRC.
We live in interesting times. I read somewhere a long time ago that “May you live in interesting times” is a curse.

Watch for USD$70/barrel of crude oil. Looks like 4 more years without overseas traveling. Now, let’s see how that Boing Boing reader vote Baire off.

The Brits are probably having their best boom time since WWII, and the majority voters don’t really care about Blair being a bulldog for some mad cowboy. The Tory Party of today is a joke, and the LibDem is just too small to make any difference. The Labour Party will win another general election, and Blair will get another term, unless he gets bummed off by his party members.
