We have a cheap HP 3-in-1. The photocopier side is okay, and colour photocopying is convenient. The software is however crap, so the scanner side isn’t really as useful as it could be. We also got weary of the printer side: the colour cartridge that came with the printer didn’t put out that many pages and the printer needs both (the colour and the b/w) cartridges in good order to function properly. Not to mention that the ink is so expensive, so we seldom use it to print. The printer was cheap and we don’t need printouts all that often so we put up with it. It’s however probably going to be our last HP inkjet printer.

Refill inks work well on my DJ6110. Since I got it, I’ve run just gone through one single set of refill inks printed hundreds of pages if not a thousand by now, with just two sets of print head cartridges alternating that could still be refilled and carry on printing.

Thanks for the tips. I might check out some refill kits, but I don’t think Omniwell has a kit for our 3-in-1 yet.
I don’t print photos w/ this 3-in-1, as I find it more convenient to use a local photo finisher. It is however very good as a colour copier, to make copies of pictures and photos for Jasper to mess w/.
In any case, laser printers are dirt cheap, and I might pick one up. Canon has a 3-in-1 laser for HK$2K, only that it is too big.
