The Hula Project and Social Software

February 17th, 2005 · 2 Comments

Novell has just released their NetMail server as open source, and started the Hula project. Seems to be a powerful IMAP server, among other things. I might look into running it on mother.

Meanwhile, groupware is out and social software is far more useful. I couldn’t agree more.

The problem with most calender software being used in Chinese societies, groupware or single user’s, is that they don’t support the Lunar Calender. The only exception I could find is WinPIM http://www.wimpim.com. Like WinPIM is would be nice if the calender software have Lunar Calender dates and allows assignment of Lunar Calender holidays.

The jwz post was an enlightenment. Thanks for the link.

BTW is that jwz link a blog or a forum? I like the way that it sorts comments with a forum style “reply to” references, turning otherwise individual comments into a discussion.
