I took Jasper to see the Impressionism exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of Art this morning, together w/ my folks and Mike. We got there at around 10:30, and queued for about half an hour before we got in. HK$30 per head, HK$15 for the senior folks, and free for Jasper.
It would have been far more enjoyable if:-
- the lighting were better. All the drawings looked like they were about 1 to 2 stops underexposed. We couldn’t see much of the texture of the oil paintings. When I look at the pamphlet and find the 3”x3” photos of the pictures look better than the original, there is something seriously wrong, and it’s not my eyes.
- there were more space. The chamber for the exhibition was tiny.
- the alarms were less intrusive. Bloody annoying.
OTOH, Huang Yongyu at 80: An Art Exhibition was far more enjoyable. Excellent stuff, and highly recommended.
