The new Nokia 3230 is in stock. The form factor is highly agreeable. At around HK$3,100 it is not too expensive. Having just realized that I bought my T68i back in (end of) 2002, my conscious is clear for getting a new phone.
The only problem is, at this point in time, the 3230 is not supported by the next version of iSync. No way am I getting an expensive phone that doesn’t sync with my computer. Apparently SmartvCard may be used to import vCards, but it is not free and the solution is far from ideal.
Both the 6670 and the 7610, which I checked out at Broadway last week, are very similar in features and functions. They are slightly bigger, thicker and heavier. The 7610 bears those Nokia snap-on shells, so it is easy to keep the phone looking mint by getting a new shell, but the funky keyboard is just too weird for me. The 6670 just looks plain ugly, but is now cheaper than the 3230 after the HK$200 off from PCCW and the package comes with a free off-brand Bluetooth earphone, which the Broadway salespeople told me was “quite good”.
Decisions.
Update (17/4): Beattie absolutely hates this phone. Pathetic (my word) keyboard and the audio sucks. Funny about the icons, doesn’t Nokia reuse them?
Pass.

The model may very well be a poor one, but it is a very confusing report from Beattie.
So which phone does Beattie have again? The 6620 or the 6630, or does he have both on top of the 7610? I haven’t tried out any of these phones, and I have no doubt the keyboard would be poor based on his description of how it works; but while he finds the phone problematic as well as having doubts about the software, and he decided to sell it on ebay which is exactly where he got it from in the first place, yet he based his report on such a unit and declared the model poor?! Obviously though, he can’t have Nokia USA to have such a (presumably second hand) gray market unit checked out. Serves him right for buying it sight unseen. I mean, even when I bought my T610 from a phone shop after I have tested it yet I still dislike it; but at least I bought it through a proper shop new with warranty and exchange policy and made sure it wasn’t a faulty unit before I based my report on it.
