It was US$599.
Plus a jab at the most hated audio hardware company.

Dog-Shit-Girl

Via Boing Boing, Korean net mob terrorizing a woman who refused to clean up her dog’s shit on a train.
OOH, this (unwanted) publicity and witchhunting are definitely OTT. OTOH, she did it in public, so there is no privacy to speak of. I find ComaKing’s comment most interesting:-
This is not punishment. This is personality hacking. [...]

Friday: 7-1 Rally
Saturday: Taking Jasper to see the dinosaur fossils (To avoid the beginning rush, we’ll do something else.)

Disgusting!
June 26th, 2005 · 4 Comments
I was taking Jasper to see our GP about his cough yesterday afternoon. I jumped into my old man’s car, and was absolutely shocked to find that the interior has all gone mouldy! Green fungus on the leather seats! White fungus on the seat belts and plastic trimmings! The driver’s seat belt stank of sweat!
Must [...]

There will be a rally.
I. WILL. BE. THERE.
My presence is a statement that I’ll be watching. We’ll all be watching. We got rid of TCH, and we’ll do it again, so Sir Donald you’d better fcsking watch out.
Oh, and anything to piss off the Communist Party. From a safe distance.

Hotmail to Junk Non-Sender-ID Mail
June 24th, 2005 · 3 Comments
As discussed on Slashdot.
Summary: unless you are using MSN/Hotmail, you probably won’t be able to communicate with your friends/family members/associates who are using MSN/Hotmail.
MSN/Hotmail will withdraw this soon enough alright, but why deal w/ the hassle and the stingy mailbox size? Get Gmail and be happy. I have 50 invitations and Gmail keeps topping it [...]

Avoid soya if you want a baby, reported by the BBC.
I think it’s loads of bull. Soya had been the sole source of protein for the Chinese population, up until the last decade.

Ironman Baby Stroller
June 18th, 2005 · 2 Comments
My colleague Steven bought this from Ebay for US$300 for his baby Maddi (mother is yank), so they could jog together in a few months, when Maddi is old enough. The shipping was around US$70, but only to Chek Lap Kok Airport, so he had to go pick it up from there.
Nice bit of equipment [...]

No Internet, No Blogging
June 17th, 2005 · 5 Comments
As I need to feed Lily in the evening, I get down to my folks’ place fairly early. Since retrieving the wifi router from my folks’ neighbours, there is no Internet access at my folks’ place. Some blogging done in a text editor, but posting is not possible.
I suppose I can see the value of [...]

The Sound of a Dog Glooming
June 16th, 2005 · Comments Off
I have never imagine that I would be disturbed in my sleep by Lily glooming during the night.
My folks have again gone to ZS for the week, so I am sleeping at their place keeping Lily company this week.
For the first two nights, I let Lily into the room, and kept the door open, so [...]

Weblog Tweaking
June 14th, 2005 · Comments Off
I have been tweaking the sidebar of my weblog.
I’ll be moving my weblog to another system, probably WordPress in the next few weeks.
I installed and played with MovableType 3. Althou I can run my personal weblog w/o purchasing a licence, I prefer WordPress’s GPL licence.

Education Vouchers for Hong Kong
June 11th, 2005 · 1 Comment
On reform of our education system, one of the proposals is the education voucher system. Each school-attending kid gets an education voucher to be used by the parents. Each of these vouchers represent a fixed sum of money. A school w/ 2000 kids will get twice the government fund than another school w/ 1000 kids. [...]

Firstly, some background on the choice of wifi network adaptors. “Open” hardware is a good thing™.
Despite the OpenBSD man page, the Buffalo WLI-U2-KG54-AI actually doesn’t work. OpenBSD 3.7 detects a umass device (for storing the Windows device driver?) but not as the ural device it is supposed to be.
I installed the Buffalo on the Lady’s [...]
