I heard from Chris, a good friend living and working in London, on 8/7. He goes into work early and on that day passed thru one of the tunnels where a bomb went off half an hour later. He had to walk from Euston all the way to Liverpool Street (a good 30-45 minutes walk?) to catch a train back home that evening thou, because the Tube was down and all the buses left town after the bombs went off.
Another friend Hayden who commutes into the City had a dental appointment that morning, and missed it all.

I have two cousins with one in Liverpool and one in London. My Uncle and Aunt went over and I just found out their whole family were in Liverpool at the time. I have another cousin travelling over there and came back on a flight departing Hethrew right around that time.

The Brits survived the IRA. They’ll pull thru alright.
Their law enforcement agencies and armed forces are also more competent than their American counterparts.

Yeah right, no intelligence before the attack and all the intelligence right after the attack. Like anyone would really do small blows first and then the major attack after the security has tighten up. It’s all too much like a show for the stupid.
I’d say the MI5 and the Scotland Yard is no more intelligent than the CIA and the FBI. You shoot a bullet to a can of shxt, you’d get a whole yard of shxt. Unless the Yanks and the Brits do an Anakin Skywalker equivalent of Hitler on those people, I don’t see how they could stop them.
As it is right now, all it takes is just a prank call once in a while and maybe cry wolf all year long, the Yanks and the Brits would be running around like rats all year. And we would never know which one it would be.

For lack of intelligence information, I have one word: cell.
And the information is out there. Import a few kg of semtex into any big city, lay low for a few months, and a group of six to ten could do similar damage to any major city in the world just like in London. Wouldn’t be too difficult to escape either.
