I took Monday morning off to attend an English Drama event at Jasper’s nursery.

It was a lot of fun. The K1/2/3 children were all marvellous. OTOH Jasper’s N1 class was hilarous. They were supposed to perform some simple dance movements along with a couple of nursery rhymes. Granted it was quite an achivement to get a bunch of 2-3 year olds to go up the stage, stand there and perform a (any) task. A third of the class didn’t know what was going on, and the other third was totally out of sync with the rest of the class. Some of the olders girls did very well thou. Jasper was a little lost and a bit too slow. I have got him on tape, which the Lady will enjoy very much. Jasper must have enjoyed it, ‘cos for the first time ever he was mentioned in the class diary for telling the teacher what they were doing on stage.

One of Jasper’s classmates refused to dance together with the rest of the class and started crying, so his mother had to take him off stage. She then asked him why he was so useless. I made a mental note not to say the same thing to Jasper, and to any other kids.
