Hong Kong and Macau Archaeology course field trip last Sunday. Destination I.
Visiting the actual site is of great help in understanding how pre-historic inhabitants there used to live, and have put most of the topics we talked about in the last few weeks into context.
It was a great trip. James seems to have enjoyed it.
I too took lots of photos, and filled my 1GB CF card on Sunday afternoon. Fortunately James had a spare to lend me. I need a new 2GB CF.
I have a little over a month to complete a report, which may also include the previous group visit to the Hong Kong History Museum. There is a section on pre-historic inhabitians in Hong Kong at the History Museum, and there are some very fine exhibits there, such as the blade of jade with a necklace and the bronze dagger, both unearthed in Hong Kong. HK$10 to get in, free on Wednesdays, definitely worth it.

When Prof. Tang talked about the lake, which we couldn’t see much of it, I thought it was just a small swamp like one as there were plenty of grass around the general direction he pointed toward. It looks like a fair size lake on the Google Earth photo you have here.

Looking back at the position of that lake on the photo though, maybe that’s not the one Prof. Tang meant.
