I took Jasper to the Ocean Park (got an annual pass) yesterday. The Citibus service from Admiralty to OP only stops in Tai Shue Wan (although there is a free service going from Tai Shue Wan to the main gate) so we went to the Middle Kingdom first, then use the escalator to go back to the Marine Land. We saw the feeding of the seals and visited the Shark place. For some reasons Jasper didn’t want to see the Atoll Reef so we aborted that. The Ocean Theatre was packed and there was a long queue of 60 minutes (!) wait to see the new jellyfish attraction. So we took the cable car to go down to the low land.

We got to the low land, spent some time at the games, when Jasper told me he scratched his right eye. I took a look and was shocked that he was bleeding in his eye. He scratch a small cut in his lower eyelid. Since there was no foreign object in his eye, I got him to shut his eye and put a piece of clean napkin over it to soaked the blood. Then we went to the first-aid post and had the nurse there checked on Jasper’s eye.

The nice nurse cleaned Jasper’s eye and had a quick check. Jasper confirmed that there was no pain or discomfort, and he could see as clear as usual. She still suggested going to the emergency unit and have a doctor to check it, ‘cos there is no way she could check whether there was any damage to Jasper’s eye.

Jasper didn’t want to go, but was good once I told him we would come back very soon. We took a taxi to Tang Siu Kin Hospital, which is closer to Queen Mary. Well, the emergency unit there was no more, and the hospital was totally shutdown on this public holiday. Talk about decline of public services!

We took another taxi to Queen Mary and wait about 90 minutes to see the doctor, who assured me that Jasper’s eye was alright, ‘cos otherwise it would be all red with tear running. That’s a relief. Got some ointment and we left.
