The creation of a new people should not be unfamiliar to the Chinese people, because it happened not so long ago in 1911. Our very own Dr Sun Yat-sen and Republic government by promoting Five Races Under One Union, or what I call Republic of the Five Ethnics in effect created a new people, the government of which inherited all the land from the Qing Dynasty (China proper from the Ming Dynasty, plus Tibet, Xinjiang, and Manchuria). So that is politics for you.
