Bought a burger (nice standard burger, and not as OTT as the BC Burger) from Triple-O of Exchange Square for lunch. There was this cashier Anne (who sadly didn’t serve me), with ace language ability, nice big smile and most pleasant, helpful and approachable attitude. It was like a breath of fresh air.
Star employees like Anne or Veronica are hard to keep. In V’s case, her manager made HK$40/hr sound very high (probably is comparatively speaking, if KFC et al are only paying HK$16/hr), but at that rate one is only making ~HK$8K/month working full time. Let’s say V’s manager probably didn’t really know her. I suspect Anne is no different.
