Cotton Seeds for Food

November 21st, 2006 · Comments Off

Genetically alternated cotton seeds for food.
Sounds good. It can’t be bad if it tastes better than soybean. I can’t wait to taste cotton bread.

Putin’s Congo Roast.
More Vicious Than Rape. (Make sure you read the WARNING before you proceed to read the article.)
Nice things to read on a Saturday morning. NOT.
F**king savages, and not limited to Congo. And the Chinese leaders were shaking hands with them savages only a couple of weeks ago.

Crab (Or More Specifically, Gigantic Crab)

November 16th, 2006 · 2 Comments

One thing I found odd was that in Oslo the Norwegians enjoyed rubbing shoulders w/ [...]

November 11th, 2006 · Comments Off

I was listening to the radio late last night. The radio presenter mentioned our Financial Secretary Henry Tong giving a speech at the opening ceremony of the Ngong Ping 360, except Tong referred the cable car as “Ngong Ping Sam Luk Ling”.
The lady was sound asleep. I had difficulty holding myself laughing aloud. Great name [...]

Missing LAN Connection

I was up until 0400 last night, struggling w/ WinXP on my Thinkpad X40.
Last night at around 2200, upon waking the X40 from hibernation (sigh, I miss the instant sleep/wake up of my Powerbook) I discovered that the wifi no longer worked. Althou both Network Stumbler and System Info pick up the wifi interface, I [...]

2nd Gen iPod Shuffle

November 7th, 2006 · Comments Off

Just took delivery of a 2nd gen iPod Shuffle. Nice. Only problem is, now that I could clip it near my shirt pocket, the cord of the headphone is way too long. I roll up the long cord and hold it with a piece of wrapped wire, but the whole setup looks clumsy and the [...]

Apple Aperture

Trial version now available. Initial impression is very good. Coming from Google Picasa and Apple iPhoto, the UI seems to make more sense than Adobe Lightroom, but is by no means snappy like Picasa.
Definitely worth giving it a test drive.

Medieval History

November 2nd, 2006 · 3 Comments

I went on a study tour of Europe re: medieval history last summer. With some knowledge on the subject and photos of the sites we visited, I didn’t see any reason why I should not be taking the medieval history course this semester.
First assignment due on Monday/Tuesday (small confusion, no real harm done, I hope). [...]
