I have just received this email, and I couldn’t believe it. What caught my eyes was the words “Designed Universe”. This is American creationists pushing this POC idea of intelligent design. Walter Bradley is actually a well known creationist who co-authored the first book on ID in the 1980s.
The way I see it, science is rational. Faith is irrational. Each has its own place, and there need not be any conflicts between science and faith. Me going to church tomorrow morning w/ the Lady and Jasper does not mean I am not a evolutionist. The problem I see with these creationists is that they are trying to confuse people on faith with science, creating conflict, and this is a bad move in my book.
Meanwhile, you could do a lot worse than watching the Q&A of Richard Dawkins’ talk at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College here (the second one). Or attend the public lecture and suggest to the good professor that it was the Flying Spaghetti_Monster who designed the universe.
