I have been thinking, since I could only afford to run one DSLR, the D40/D40s might be a little too wimpy (althou it would probably be a very reasonable upgrade from my now vintage D70), and maybe I should look seriously into upgrading to the new D300, which is bound to break some new ground in image quality.
The D40/D40s certainly have their advantages. Being small and light I am more likely to take it around w/ me, and they are not as intimidating than those gigantic DSLRs. They don’t do AF w/ my 50/1.4 thou, but I don’t know how bad this would be, as I have no idea whether I would be able to focus manually thru the D40/D40s viewfinder. As always there is no perfect camera.
