I have heard of it, but never seen it before, until yesterday. In Justco, Shenzhen Nantau. Kyocera ceramic knifes. White blade. Cool looking. Light and well balanced. Very sharp. Wicked.
Not cheap thou.
Update (20/5): Over the weekend I saw Justco in Tuen Mun selling them. The tubby guy had no idea how to sell this piece of fine equipment, and was going on about the unique serial numbers on the knives bringing good luck brh brh brh instead of concentrating on the advantages of the ceramic knife. Now credit where credit is due, at ~HK$600, this is rather expensive and may only attract a small sector of the Tuen Mun demography, and I don’t think he’s going to sell many.
For some reasons this reminds me of the TV advert for the Ginzu knives, especailly the bit where a hand holding a Ginzu knife cut a leather shoe into half then went straight to cut a tomato into half.
Update (11/6): Found cheap Chinese-made ceramic knife going for HK$168 in a temporary stall (in an empty shop unit) in Tuen Mun New Market. Its balance is not as nice as and a bit heavier than the genuine Kyocera I have played with, and according to the Lady doesn’t cut as nice, but still beats steel knife. According to the lady selling it, the knife is made by a famous knife factory in the Guangdong province. There is this Hong Kong mobile phone number printed on the knife that one could call for warranty and service and they do a HK$40 (or HK$80?) one-for-one swap. At less than 1/3 of the cost of the great Kyocera, I figured I really couldn’t go wrong with this so I bought one for mum. We’ll know how she likes it.

They are probably a little bit more fragile than steel knifes, but a lot more expensive.
They are no good for cutting bones, so you’d still need your chopper.
