When I first bought my CX7 videocam, only 8GB Memory Stick Duo Pro was available (and more expensive than SDHC cards of the same size too!) The package came with 2 4GB cards, each only good for shooting for half an hour on the highest quality setting. They are probably okay for shooting SD movie, but then what’s the point of getting an HD videocam?

I bought two 8GB cards to take with me on the trip to Inner Mongolia, and they were good for a whole day with my shooting pattern, although for once I ran out and had to use the spare 4GB I took with me.

I note that the 16GB is now available (and expensive!) I might pick one up and use the two 8GB cards as spares. I am not too happy (who is?!) with the high cost of Memory Sticks, but since they are not expendables and I only need a few so I consider them as part of the package.
