昨天往澳門團拜,下午再到盧九公園旁邊的「典雅檀香山」咖啡室。
好咖啡!食物亦相當不俗。

Puji
September 9th, 2009 · Comments Off
Our maid Puji left on Sunday to go back to her homeland Indonesia and is getting married. She arrived the day before Jasper was born, so has been with us for nearly 7 years.
Clever Puji has over the years saved up quite a bit and now owns a couple of pieces of land in and [...]

2009 Spring Festival, Guangzhou
We went to Guangzhou with my parents and a friend during the Spring Festival. Great place, and I think my parents enjoyed the trip. We stayed at the White Swan Hotel, which unfortunately was a bit stuffy and the duvets were too think, so none of us really slept all that well. [...]

Jasper Swimming Freestyle 25m
September 22nd, 2008 · Comments Off
Jasper has been going to swimming lessons every week since summer 2007. It is one of those “Little Infant Dolphins” classes so the coaches don’t push the kids very hard. I would like Jasper to be able to do a bit of school-level swim competition when he gets older, but it has not been my [...]

Inner Mongolia: 呼和浩特 Hohhot Day 1
July 6th, 2008 · Comments Off
We took the afternoon flight from Shenzhen, which took three hours to get to Hohhot. Got bumped up to First Class. Absolutely charming air hostess. Food was so-so. Got there at ~1800 hours. The aerial view outside the window when the aircraft was approaching landing was simply stunning.
Nice new airport. Style of Norman Foster. This [...]

Toby is picking up what he calls a new toy.
I don’t understand why anybody would call a boring minivan a toy.
But then I don’t understand train spotters or bus spotters either.

NPC Get Together
August 6th, 2007 · 4 Comments
Last Friday. The venue was so-so. We really should be going to a cheap-ish buffet dinner next time.
The folks went drinking after dinner. I was planning to go, but jumped at the chance for a lift home (hey social life does suffer a bit if you live in Tuen Mun). The ride was a very [...]

Grandpa Passed Away
March 5th, 2007 · 2 Comments
He was admitted into hospital last week, went into coma on Friday night or early Saturday morning, and passed away on Saturday morning around 11:30.
Grandpa was 97, and in general had a good life (well AFAIK). May he RIP.

My mother-in-law passed away 03:08 early this morning.
She died of liver cancer. Only moderate suffering.
The Lady is devastated, but she’ll get over it.

The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
October 13th, 2005 · Comments Off
Took Jasper to see Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit on Tuesday.
Since getting the full Wallace & Gromit collection on DVD, Jasper’s been a great fan of the duo. He absolutely loves the new movie.
Oh, and they showed a short-ish movie before the main thing, starred by the 4 psycotic penguins in [...]

I Stank of Spice
August 5th, 2005 · 4 Comments
Went to “Siu Fei Yeung”, a hotpot restuarant specializing in mutton/lamb last night with a bunch of photo friends. I drank quite a lot. Lots of fun.
Got home and I absolutely stank of the spice in the hotpot. Even my tote bag soaked up the smell.
Note: photop is dead, so I can’t even link to [...]

Message from London
July 11th, 2005 · 4 Comments
I heard from Chris, a good friend living and working in London, on 8/7. He goes into work early and on that day passed thru one of the tunnels where a bomb went off half an hour later. He had to walk from Euston all the way to Liverpool Street (a good 30-45 minutes walk?) [...]

for the arrival of a pair of fraternal twins (boy and girl!). I only found out just now when I called him to get an update. I missed those photos of his offsprings he posted onto Freeforum earlier.
Reported earlier.
So the arrival of the girl has somewhat upset the statistics of NPC members offsprings’ sex. However, [...]

Grand Day Out

to the Ocean Park on Saturday.
Jasper is under three, so he still gets in free. Althou the OP is considered by some to be old and having lost its charm, and the tickets (we got group tickets) aren’t exactly cheap, I think it’s still a great place for a grand day out, and the ticket [...]

Lily! Bad Dog!

Yesterday afternoon on my way to pick up Jasper I bummed into Michael my younger brother walking Lily. Together we bummed into Morris who was being carted back home by his maid. I greeted them and Morris was showing interest in Lily. Suddenly Lily snapped away Morris’s bun! Morris wasn’t too pleased, and we were [...]

Jasper’s 4th and 5th Days of School
October 10th, 2004 · Comments Off
On Jasper’s 4th and 5th days of school I left soon after he finished breakfast at the kindergarten. He didn’t like it at all, and started crying for daddy. Like on previous days he was soon distracted and stopped, but after awhile he would start thinking about daddy and cry again. His appetite was good, [...]
