Don’t be fooled by the fat chick on the poster, this is an excellent movie. Highly recommended.

Leaky Earbuds and Loss of Hearing

Me in a lift.
Young gothic chick. Gothic chick put on her iPod earbuds. Gothic chick turned volume up really loud. The earbuds leaked. We all heard what the gothic chick was listening to.
When you are young, you turn you music loud and don’t care too much about sound quality. The loud music destroys your hearing. [...]

My Big iPod Finally Died
February 12th, 2007 · Comments Off
A few months after expiration of AppleCare. Bummer.
I am enjoying the use of a iPod Shuffle 2G. The iPod Shuffle 1G however sounds better.
I am in no hurry to get a new big iPod, probably wait till the real widescreen iPod Video, or when Apple brings out an affordable big iPod w/ Flash memory.

At17 Live at the AsiaWorld-Expo
December 22nd, 2006 · 1 Comment
For the last few days I have been listening to At17’s Live CD of their latest performance at the AsiaWorld-Expo.
There is no question that there is a big generation gap (more like a few big gaps) between the At17 duo and this old fart here, so how come I enjoy it so much? While I [...]

2nd Gen iPod Shuffle
November 7th, 2006 · Comments Off
Just took delivery of a 2nd gen iPod Shuffle. Nice. Only problem is, now that I could clip it near my shirt pocket, the cord of the headphone is way too long. I roll up the long cord and hold it with a piece of wrapped wire, but the whole setup looks clumsy and the [...]

of any iPod, ever. The 2nd generation iPod nano, with brush metal casing. And WOW the new iPod Shuffle. I have already ordered one from the Apple Store, and I hope the internal amplifier is anything like the previous iPod Shuffle.
Oh, finally, gapless playback. Update: gapless playback is a new feature of iTunes, so once [...]

Mingo’s Headphone Club
September 10th, 2006 · Comments Off
We paid a visit to Mingo’s Headphone Club (the shop) yesterday. Very interesting idea, and a great range of headphones, amplifiers etc. to play with.
I like the MEIZU Miniplayer M6, which is nice, thin, has a big screen (for its size) and sounds okay. It’s also cheaper than the iPod Nano and has more features, [...]

People want more.
I suppose I shouldn’t be, ‘cos 3 is the number that follows 2, but I am quite shocked to find out about Shure’s E500 IEM. Shure’s E5 already contains two drivers on each side, and now they are putting an extra driver in the new E500.
And there is the 5 [...]

What You Get is What You Want

Folks used to complain that all the new local singers looked alike and couldn’t sing.
Complain no more! See the new kid on the block, in the form of a bald junkie.
And the latest diva. She can sing alright and looks okay. Well the record company threw in her twin sister as well. For double the [...]

Gary Glitter

We used to like good old Gary during our university years. So it was quite depressing that he got done for having kiddy porn on his computer a few years back.
And it was all downhill from then on. And he was incredibly stupid about it as well.
Sigh…

Went windows shopping for a bit last night at Tuen Mun Town Centre. I didn’t care enough about this loser of a phone at the local Broadway to check out the price.
You can still pick up the old brush metal iPod mini. The iPod nano however is nowhere in sight.

I’d always like to watch and cheer friends spending good money to get good stuff. I did just that this afternoon.
Say this after me: E-TI-MO-TIC.
My Shure E3c are nice, but this is this much better.
