I got totally confused with the PHP port and the few WordPress instances went down for a little over 24 hours.

For the record, just build and install the PHP5 port, then PHP5-extensions port. Ignore all the other PHP5-* ports.

Interesting movie. One small thing however: a part (from ~1:40 to 2:20) shows a few primitive fishermen doing small-scale shark-hunting and fin-cutting, which I think probably would not convince anyone that sharks are being over-hunted. This may be a little confusing, and I think it is important to get the strong message across.

我對這個地方印像特別深刻，主要是因為它有趣的歷史。謹附主要是從維基百科上抄來的「功課」給大家參考。

教皇宮建築物內不准攝影，入口處的職員沒有講清楚庭院可以攝影，只管叫我們寄存相機，所以我一進去所有相機已被繳械，沒有在宮內拍攝。

當時城中正值「亞維農節」（著名一年一度的藝術節），各個表演單位日間在城內免費公開表演，吸引大家買票晚上進場。可惜的是，當時我們安排不到在城內的酒店住，結果在城外幾十里的一間酒店落腳，錯過了夜遊及晚上表演。

The package was solid, easy to use, relatively small and for my travel use (I was never into long range zoom lenses), versatile.

My present rig is a Nikon D300 and 18-70 kit lens. The package is solid, easy to use, and very versatile for my travel use. Cons are the weight and package size, and I wish the zoom lens could be wider.

The new Nikkor 24/1.4G makes me wonder, notwithstanding the size and weight of the lens and the corresponding full-frame camera (incidentally, the cheapest Nikon full-frame DSLR D700, is nearly the same size as my D300), whether I could reach the same nirvana as with my LX and 24/2 with this new gem and a D700.

Then I looked at the old photos I took with my Nikon D70 and the same 18-70 kit lens back in 2006 on my trip to Europe. I was already in the state of nirvana as far as photographic equipment went! My D300 beats the old D70 hands down, so maybe I am already in nirvana, without realizing it.

So, when is the D700s coming out?

The main road we live on is only a few metres above sea-level (although we are well above sea-level and a good 150 metres from the shoreline), so the tsunami warning gets my thinking: should I be more prepared, in case some sort of real disaster strikes? Say be prepared for at least a few days out of food, water and electricity. Contingency plan for security and communication?

吸引我注意力的是勞永樂的言論：

社區內有六千多名孕婦已感染豬流感，但只有一人嚴重，併發症風險即只是萬分之一點六，但現有兩名孕婦胎死腹中，有千四名孕婦打了針，即是風險為千分之一點四，換言之打針引致問題的風險，是感染後出現嚴重併發症風險的近十倍。

驟聽下好像很有道理，不過我想深一層，覺得邏輯不正確，因為到這刻都沒有証據，証明兩名胎死腹中的案例與疫苗有因果關係，故此這個所謂「千分之一點四」風險的法其實並不成立，「萬分之一點六」和「千分之一點四」這個比較亦沒有意義；還有更大的問題是，這樣比較，只會誤導大眾，誤以為不打針比較打針安全十倍。

其實，到了這個地步，理性討論對大眾已經沒有意義，因為恐懼已經令人先入為主覺得疫苗不安全。很難可以再說服大眾接受科學的結論。我想，之前在電視上接受訪問的婦產科醫生說得對，孕婦如果接受注射之後胎兒有事，不論是否與注射有關，父母皆會非常內咎。至此，恐懼戰勝科學。

當天早上我在網上讀到這個消息。「有趣！」我想。與朋友在IM上談起，她說這是「大件事！」到那一刻我仍未意識到這件事的歷史重要性。

之後我基本上整天從Twitter上留意著事情的發展。早上google.cn將過濾詞關上，「八九民運」，「六四」等的詞語被解封，圖片搜尋也提供了六四時血淋淋的新聞圖片。Twitter在大陸是被GFW掉的，所以國內網民上Twitter都得翻牆，而這些tweets的取態也不問可知：大家奔走相告。

就在google.cn過濾關上之後一兩個小時內，在百度和搜搜也出現了過濾詞關上的現像。霎時間我以為是這些國內搜尋機器也關上過濾來支持Google，不過原來真相頗為醜陋，只是這些搜尋機器原來一同並非真的在做網上搜尋，而只是取用google.cn的資料和搜尋結果，故此當google.cn關上過濾後，這些國內搜尋器很快就受到影響。

之後國內對Google撤離開始作出反應。大部份國內網民的態度都是，Google不安好心，要走盡管走，只會是你們的損失。

我想講一講十八世紀英使Lord Macartney來訪乾隆的歷史事件。當時正值乾隆晚年，幾十年的盛世，清朝上下皆「感覺良好」，這些遠來的客人所提出的要求，跟大清一向官方所習慣，朝貢式的貿易有很大的分別，故此老人乾隆定為不合中國國情而冷待之，在致英帝George III的回信中，他寫道：

we possess all things. I set no value on objects strange or ingenious, and have no use for your country’s manufactures.

我們甚麼都有。新奇事物對我沒有價值，你國所製造的，對我也沒有用處。

歷史往後的發展，大家都耳熟能詳。

今天中國國內瀰漫著一種「大國」的氣氛，眾人皆感覺良好，所以完全看輕了Google要徹離中國這件事的可能歷史含意。

英國在十八世紀末已經是當時世界上數一數二的強國，Lord Macartney所代表的並不止是一個西方強國船堅炮利的力量，而是背後mercantilism的意識形態。事實証明，英國在之後接近一百五十年，領導世界。

我想大家要認清一點，Google是人類歷史上最先進的團體，它擁有最先進的科技，最優秀的人材（並非國內水份含量超高的博士畢業生可比！），可以與十八世紀的英國類比。當今天國人皆感覺良好，覺得Google徹離中國沒有甚麼大不了，豈不就正是當年大清乾隆盛世，人人感覺良好，看輕英國使節和其背後所代表的先進意識形態的翻版？

我看了很多評論，還未看到有人提到百度取用google.cn搜尋結果的含意。百度之前一直取用google.cn結果，Google豈會不知？只不過，Google其實是有點狡猾，要百度等自以為可以坐享其成，不思在科技上的進取。我很懷疑，現在國內的搜尋器公司，是否有足夠技術和實力可以提供與Google差不多高質數的服務給中國廣大網民。這應該會是Google與中國政府談判時放在桌上的籌碼。當然，百度等可以轉用Bing，只不過這只會代表，中國技術嚴重落後。

如果Google離開中國，未來中國的損失極可能會與之前乾隆拒絕與世界接軌後中國所付出的代價一般大。
